A Black History Month Reflection

This Black History Month Rev. Cosey reminds us that some stories are hard to retell but they must be remembered.
Our history carries pain, resilience, faith, and endurance. The struggles of the past are not distant. They echo into our present, shaping how we experience leadership, justice, and hope today. Yet through it all, God has been our strength.
God has helped us withstand what was meant to break us. God carried our ancestors through unimaginable trials, and that same God walks with us now—through today’s challenges, decisions, and moments of uncertainty.
As we reflect, we honor the past without being trapped by it. We stand rooted in faith, trusting that God continues to guide us forward, even when the road is difficult.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
