In Part 2 of "I Just Want to Know Somebody," Pastor Dr. Sharyon Cosey shares a meaningful lesson discovered during an ordinary walk with her dog.
As she watched a group of pigeons eating crumbs, almost immediately, the majority of the flock flew away in fear. Only one bird remained, seemingly unsure whether to leave. Yet after a moment, it too followed the others.
The experience prompted a deeper reflection on how people often respond to uncertainty and fear. Just as the pigeons followed one another without knowing the reason, Christians can sometimes find themselves reacting to fear simply because others around them are doing the same.
Pastor Cosey reminds us that believers are called to respond differently. We are called to encourage one another, remain grounded in our faith and demonstrate the values Christ taught us—even when circumstances are difficult. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 17:20 that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed, we can move mountains. Faith is not only for the moments when everything is going well. It is for the moments that challenge us most.
When fear begins to spread, may we be people who model faith, hope, and trust in God.
Watch this message and be inspired to choose faith over fear.
